ASBA Initiatives and Objectives
The Anambra Small Business Agency, ASBA was established on 8th December 2014 by Chief Willie Obiano with the mission to establish a structured and efficient hub for micro, small and medium enterprises sector that will enhance sustainable economic development in the State. ASBA’s vision is to facilitate easier access to resources required by entrepreneurs and investors of MSMEs in Anambra.

Investment Climate
A conducive business environment is the foundation of ASBA’s support for MSME’s, by focusing on the regulatory problems that impact negatively on SMEs such as licensing, registration and monitoring etc.

Access To Finace
ASBA would collaborate with local and international financial intermediaries that would enable MSMEs to grow their businesses with affordable and tailored credit and investment

Capacity Building
Limited management and operational capacity slow the performance and growth of MSMEs. ASBA would provide MSME’s with affordable access to localized and customized business management information, interactive tools, and training. In partnership with Development Agencies and Private Sector, ASBA would rollout capacity-building products to enhance MSME competitiveness, at subsidized fees.

MSME Monitoring
ASBA would stimulate, coordinate & monitor the growth of MSME in the State to ensure empirical data and analysis is available to actualise the real growth of this sector and its contribution to GDP growth in the State

Access To Market
Development results are improved when capacity building is linked to MSME access to markets and access to finance. ASBA would develop several programs that create linkages between SMEs and large businesses. These linkages would create powerful incentives for SMEs to build managerial and operational capacity within their operations.

SME Policy Development
ASBA would align and partner with other agencies and development organisation (local & international) that have similar mandates of MSME empowerment and poverty eradication. This include, but not limited to, the following
